Lithium-ion Battery

A lithium-ion battery or Li-ion battery (abbreviated as LIB) is a type of rechargeable battery.

In the batteries lithium ions move from the negative electrode through an electrolyte to the positive electrode during discharge, and back when charging.

Li-ion batteries are available in all shapes and sizes. And that renders them to be the perfect option for power needs irrespective of the size of the system.

Some of the most common applications of lithium-ion batteries are:

  • Power backups/UPSMobile,

  • Laptops, and other commonly used consumer electronic goods

  • Electric mobility

  • Energy Storage Systems

Advantages:

  • High Energy Density One of the biggest advantages of a lithium-ion battery is its high energy density i.e. lithium-ion batteries can last way longer between charges all the while maintaining a high current output.

  • Low Self Discharge: lithium-ion batteries have a clear advantage when not being used as well.

  • Low to Minimum Maintenance
